THE OPAS STUDENT COMMITTEE

Howdy! MSC OPAS is a service organization that brings professional performances to campus, creates leaders, builds friendships, and connects with the community.

OPAS is the only organization of its kind in the nation. Our student component is what makes us unique. And many will tell you that the Fightin' Texas Aggies that make up the OPAS Student Committee, more affectionately known as OPASites, are the heart and soul of the organization.

The OPAS Student Committee is comprised of over 40 student volunteers. We are not performers. You'll see us on performance nights in our black suits and black dresses ready to serve the community in any way we can. We usher, take tickets, distribute programs and make sure everything in the house runs smoothly on performance nights. We also have a team of managers that provides special services (such as a hat and coat check, large print programs and hearing devices) and backstage hospitality for the artists you see on stage. We also have a public relations team and subcommittees for education outreach, fundraising and student development.

OPASites also participate in many fundraising activities such as nights out to Red Mango and Fuddruckers. There are also many social activities like bowling, ice skating, a day at Lake Bryan, and overnight retreats. The friendships that are formed among the ranks of the OPAS Student Committee last a lifetime.

We love having a part in helping OPAS bring world-class entertainment to the Brazos Valley. We're always looking for more enthusiastic volunteers to join the MSC OPAS Student Committee. So if you are a Texas A&M University student interested in getting great leadership experience, building friendships and bringing professional performing arts to Texas A&M email opas.recruitment@gmail.com or fill out the Student Application located on the left panel of your screen and turn it into our Staff Office. (Staff Office is located in the remaining part of the MSC, follow the sidewalk by bus stop area by the MSC toward Wellborn Rd., there will be a sign on the entrance doors.)

Thanks & Gig 'Em,
The MSC OPAS Student Committe
