BECOME AN OPAS VOLUNTEER

New Volunteer Program Created for Brazos Valley
Residents with a Passion for the Performing Arts

OPAS is launching a call to the community to build a volunteer service program. Volunteers will be trained during the summer and begin service this fall. Opportunities are available in the following areas:ushering, ticket tearing, special services, coat check, backstage hospitality and transportation, doorman greeters and program distribution.

Traits desired for all volunteers of OPAS include:

  • Special interest and enthusiasm for the performing arts
  • Demonstrates and enforces appropriate performance protocol
  • Has a serious willingness to serve all patrons of the Rudder Theatre complex with care and respect
  • Displays a high level of congeniality in greeting and seating performance guests
  • Reflects a professional demeanor in the execution of all volunteer responsibilities

Potential volunteers will be asked to submit an application indicating areas of interest, skills and availability. From there, volunteers selected will be invited to attend a training and orientation.

Our performances are held year round and volunteers are needed in the evenings and on weekends. Performance volunteers commit to at least 4 performances a year. Please be aware that this job requires standing for long periods of time & working all levels of the Theater. Volunteers must adhere to the dress code.
